It\u2019s been busy year at Woodward Group HQ as we\u2019ve welcomed a new face to the senior team, taken on three new apprentices, and celebrated two exciting promotions for a couple of our longest serving team members.<\/h2>\n

Aden Woodward, managing director of Woodward Group, says: \u201cWe are thrilled to be signing off this year by strengthening our team with a new senior appointment, two promotions, a new addition to our accounts team, and three new apprentices.<\/p>\n

Greg Haigh joins the team<\/h3>\n

First up, we\u2019re pleased to announce that Greg Haigh has been appointed as our Controls Division Manager. With over 16 years\u2019 expertise in the sector, Greg has a wide range of electrical engineering<\/a> and management experience. His career has taken him all over the world, including the USA, India, Mexico, South Africa and numerous countries across Europe, and he has worked with a wide range of equipment and systems, from 40+ years old piece of kit to brand new, state of the art technology.<\/p>\n

As Controls Division Manger, Greg works across multiple electrical engineering controls projects, with his role ranging from overseeing design, drawings and FDS (functional design specifications), to conducting SAT\/FATs (site\/factory acceptance tests) and visiting customers on site.<\/p>\n

Greg\u2019s keen interest in machinery safety has led to him completing several courses in this area including: \u2018TUV Rheinland Functional Safety for Machinery Technician\u2019, \u2018Pilz \/ City & Guilds \u2013 Application and Practical Use of Machinery Safety, Legislation and Standards\u2019, and \u2018Pilz \u2013 Safety Design, including ISO 13849-1 & Pascal\u2019.<\/p>\n

Commenting on his appointment, Greg said: \u201cJoining Woodward Group marks an exciting new chapter in my career. I\u2019m looking forward to supporting customers across a range of different industries with their challenging projects, and putting my experience to good use. The team at Woodward Group have already made me feel very welcome, and it\u2019s a pleasure to be working with such down to earth, hardworking people.\u201d<\/p>\n

Two promotions for longstanding team members<\/h3>\n

James Gallimore began his career journey at Woodward Group over 16 years ago as an electrical apprentice when he was just 18 \u2013 and the rest is history!<\/p>\n

Having progressed into a number of supervisory roles over the years, and demonstrated exceptional leadership qualities, we are delighted to have promoted James to Contracts Manager this year.<\/p>\n

In this new role, James looks after the needs of a number of our valued clients, including Alstom Group<\/a>, working with them on the day to day organisation of the site, including project planning and management, and generally makes sure operations are always running smoothly. Also promoted this year was our Electrical Site Manager, Stuart Harrison. Stuart started as an electrician with the Woodward Group team over 6 years ago, before progressing to a site supervisor, and now a site manager.<\/p>\n

Highly qualified and vastly experienced, Stuart has worked across the UK & Europe completing various, complex projects for large scale companies. In his new role, he takes care of the financial side of projects, ensuring everything is in order alongside the scope of works provided.
